the municipal space of the episcopio in ávila has launched an exhibition titled 'the eyes of the city', showcasing the work of local artist gloria pérez barroso. the exhibition, which runs until 15 november, features around thirty acrylic paintings that reflect both the walled city of ávila and other inspiring locations.
gloria pérez, a self-taught artist known for her vibrant use of colour, aims to convey her feelings about her beloved ávila through her artwork. her pieces include titles such as 'interior', which invites viewers to discover hidden elements within the paintings, and 'orbitante', as well as the titular piece 'the eyes of the city'. other works draw inspiration from her travels to zanzibar and thailand, showcasing rich golds, deep blues, and earthy tones intertwined with geometric designs.
the exhibition is open to the public from tuesday to friday, 19:00 to 21:00; on saturdays and holidays, from 12:00 to 14:00 and 19:00 to 21:00; and on sundays, from 12:00 to 14:00.
