FC Barcelona hosts Deportivo Alavés in LaLiga clash

FC Barcelona will take on Deportivo Alavés this Saturday, 31 October, at 20:00 (Canary Islands time; 21:00 on the mainland) at Spotify Camp Nou, in the 11th round of LaLiga EA Sports. The team, managed by Hansi Flick, aims to bounce back from their first league defeat of the season, which came in the recent Clásico, against a rival currently positioned in the upper half of the table.

Current form of Barcelona and Alavés

Deportivo Alavés sits seventh in the league with 12 points, having achieved three wins, three draws, and four losses. They have scored 14 goals while conceding 11. Their performance has varied significantly between home and away matches: Alavés has accumulated 10 points from six games at their home ground, Mendizorroza, but only 2 points from four away fixtures, which include two draws and two losses.

Recent head-to-head encounters

The last five encounters between Barcelona and Alavés in LaLiga have favoured the Catalan side, although there is a recent warning sign for the hosts. Barcelona has won four of these matches, while Alavés secured a victory in the most recent clash, winning 1-0 at Mendizorroza on 13 May 2026. Prior to that, Barcelona had won the match on 29 November 2025 at Camp Nou (3-1) and another on 2 February 2025 (1-0). The last time Barcelona visited Vitoria, they won 3-0 on 6 October 2024 and 3-1 on 3 February 2024. In total, Barcelona has scored 10 goals compared to Alavés's 3 in these five meetings. This Saturday, Alavés will aim to replicate their surprise victory from May.
