The first edition of the Fiesta de la Bici will take place on 8 November in Puerto de Sagunto, aimed at promoting cycling and sustainable mobility within the community. Organised by Peña Ciclista Porteña, the event is supported by the Sagunto City Council and Fertiberia.
This morning, the event was presented by Javier Timón, the councillor for Physical Activity and Sports, alongside Manolo González, president of Peña Ciclista Porteña, and other members of the organisation. The initiative is open to all citizens and encourages people of all ages to enjoy cycling as a mode of transport.
The activity will feature a popular route starting and ending at the Triángulo Umbral, with additional activities for children and a draw for sportswear among participants, aiming to create a fun and family-friendly atmosphere.
Timón expressed gratitude to Peña Ciclista Porteña for organising the event, sharing the goal of promoting cycling and healthy lifestyles, while also providing families with the opportunity to engage in physical activity. He highlighted the collaboration with Fertiberia and the efforts of volunteers to ensure participant safety, encouraging the community to take part in what he hopes will be the first of many such events.
Manolo González expressed pride in hosting the event, which aims to encourage cycling and healthy sports practices, particularly among children. He also thanked the Sagunto City Council and Fertiberia for their contributions, which will enhance the day's appeal with games and prizes for younger participants.
