The Gothic hall of the Palacio del Condestable will host the musical theatre performance ‘Haritik tiraka’ this evening, presented by the Basque company Bitsa Compañía. The event is part of the Karrikan project, which promotes the creation of emerging street arts. The performance, which begins at 7pm, is conducted in Euskera and is open to the general public.
‘Haritik tiraka’, created by Bitsa Compañía (Ane Gebara and Iván Casado), has received the award for Best Show in Euskera at the 2026 Umore Azoka in Leioa. Set against the backdrop of the Spanish Civil War and the post-war period, the play underscores the essential role of women and messengers during these times. It tells the story of a young woman who moves into a new house and uncovers the life of the previous resident, celebrating everyday gestures, daily errands, and community ties within neighbourhoods.
The performance combines theatre, storytelling, object manipulation, and live music featuring the cello. The dramaturgy has been developed with the collaboration of Navarre actress Estefanía de Paz Asín. The show is directed by Ane Gebara, a childhood educator and storyteller, and co-founder of Les Bobe-Bobe, alongside Iván Casado, a professional cellist trained at Musikene, who balances teaching, creation, and musical performance.
The staging of ‘Haritik tiraka’ is part of the Karrikan project, a cross-border and local cooperation network that has included the City Council of Pamplona since 2025, along with other municipalities such as Hendaia, Ansoáin, Leioa, Bilbao, and Zarautz, aimed at fostering the creation of emerging street arts.
