Government highlights role of regional houses in preserving traditions

The Government of Castilla-La Mancha has underscored the crucial role that regional houses play in preserving and promoting the traditions, culture, and identity of the region beyond its borders. This statement was made by Carmen Teresa Olmedo, the Deputy Minister of Culture and Sports, during her participation in the 38th Cultural Week of the Regional House of Castilla-La Mancha in Getafe.

Olmedo highlighted the function of these entities as meeting places that help maintain connections with the homeland. She stated, “Regional houses are true ambassadors of our culture, places where our roots remain alive and where the pride of belonging to Castilla-La Mancha is passed down from generation to generation.”

She also congratulated the board and members of the Regional House of Castilla-La Mancha in Getafe for celebrating the 38th edition of their Cultural Week, a milestone that reflects nearly four decades of commitment to promoting the traditions of the region.

“There are many ways to love a land, and one of the most beautiful is to continue sharing its customs, music, and gastronomy, even when life has taken us far from it,” Olmedo remarked.

The 38th Cultural Week is being held from 19 to 25 October and features a programme that includes musical performances, dances, gastronomic tastings, and folklore activities, including participation from the Flor de Azafrán choir and dance group.
