This weekend, Teatro de la Laboral in Gijón will host a variety of performances catering to diverse tastes, including humour, music, and dance-theatre.
Humour with 'No me toques el cuento'
On Friday, 23 October, at 20:30, the stage will come alive with 'No me toques el cuento', a show created and directed by Olivia Lara. This performance features four princesses who challenge the traditional narratives of classic fairy tales. Through a sharp and witty lens, the show aims to break stereotypes and assert the right to tell the true stories behind these tales.
Music from El Arrebato
On Saturday, 24 October, at 20:30, the theatre will host a concert by El Arrebato, a well-known artist in the rumba and pop genres. Attendees can expect to hear tracks from his latest album, 'El viaje inesperado', which introduces fresh musical rhythms while maintaining his distinctive style. Only limited visibility tickets are still available for this event.
Dance-theatre with 'En la casita de Klimt'
On Sunday, 25 October, at 17:30, Escena Miriñaque will present 'En la casita de Klimt', a family-friendly dance-theatre piece that is part of the Danza Xixón programme. This performance explores the themes of time and imagination through the story of a woman organising her memories, accompanied by her younger self—curious, playful, and full of life. The show combines movement, music, and humour, creating a poetic journey that intertwines past and present, reminding us that all versions of ourselves continue to exist in our memories.
Upcoming performances
In addition to this weekend's events, the theatre will also feature Ángel Martín's monologue 'Somos monos' on 30 October, followed by a magic show by Jorge Blass titled 'Flipar', which will take place on 31 October and 1 November, promising to leave audiences astonished with illusions and teleportations.
