The Teatro para Todos series will kick off its 2026-2027 programme on Sunday, 18 October, at 18:30 in the Centro Cultural Virgen del Carmen, featuring 'Estación Paraíso' by the company La Maquiné. This one-person show, recommended for audiences aged five and above, marks the start of a term where all three scheduled performances will be completely free with an invitation.
The cultural programme offered by the Torrevieja City Council aims to provide a new opportunity for both children and adults to engage with the performing arts. Teatro para Todos continues its commitment to family-friendly productions that blend entertainment with values such as friendship, respect, and love, making theatre accessible to audiences of all ages.
'Estación Paraíso' tells the story of an elderly puppeteer waiting at a train station, uncertain of her purpose there. The puppets she carries in a suitcase serve as her only clues to uncovering her identity and destination. Through humour and tenderness, the performance narrates a woman's courageous journey to reconnect with the love of her life, portraying life as a train journey with the final destination being the 'station of paradise'.
This production has received several accolades, including the 2024 Max Award for Best Show for Children, Youth or Families; the Audience Award for Best Children's/Families Show at the 25th Theatre Fair of Castilla y León in 2022; the 2023 FETEN Award for Best Female Performance; and the 2023 Lorca Award for Best Children's Show, awarded by the Academy of Performing Arts of Andalucía.
Invitations can be collected at the concierge desk of the Centro Cultural Virgen del Carmen until the day of the performance or until stocks last. The organisers request that those who collect an invitation make use of it, and if they are unable to attend, to pass it on to someone else who can enjoy the show. With the opening of this theatrical season, Teatro para Todos encourages families to once again fill the Centro Cultural Virgen del Carmen and enjoy a programme that facilitates access to culture.
