The Diabolus in Musica company will present Operación Ópera at the Paraninfo of the University of Alicante (UA), a family-oriented performance that merges theatre, opera, and musical elements. This production aims to create a work that combines lyricism and mystery while engaging the audience in the action, according to the company.

The performance is scheduled for Thursday, 5 November, at 7 pm, with tickets available on the Cultural Service website for €10. The story unfolds in the Grand Theatre of the Opera, where everything is set for the premiere of Verdi's Aida. However, the disappearance of a crucial element threatens the opening night.

The arrival of Ofelia di Lammermoor, a private detective, will guide the audience through the theatre's spaces and professions to ensure the curtain rises. Audience members will not only need to assist in decision-making but will also be required to lend their voices for the premiere.

Operación Ópera is designed for all audiences, conveying educational values such as teamwork and the importance of individual contributions, alongside musical concepts like voices, music, and interpretation, as well as scenic elements. The show is Recommended (R) by Redescena.

Directed by Jordi Purtí, with a script co-written by Purtí and Israel Solà, the cast features soprano Maia Planas, tenor José Manuel Sánchez, baritone Pablo López, actress Mariantònia Salas, and pianist David Mohedano.
