More than 800 personalities from the cultural sector have come together to support a general strike, as outlined in a manifesto titled 'El 11N, la cultura también para'. Among the notable signatories are acclaimed director Rodrigo Sorogoyen, actor Carlos Bardem, and artists Alana S. Portero and Sara Barquinero.
The manifesto calls for a halt to activities in the cultural sector, highlighting the urgent need for attention to the challenges faced by artists and cultural workers. This movement coincides with a demonstration organised by the Tenants' Union in Madrid, aimed at protesting the recent rollback of housing decrees.
The general strike is set to take place on 11 November, and the manifesto serves as a rallying cry for those within the industry to unite in their demands for better conditions and support.
