The director of Tourism for Galicia, Xosé Merelles, has signed a collaboration agreement with the mayor of A Estrada, Gonzalo Louzao Dono, aimed at revitalising the recreational area of the río Liñares. This initiative will also involve the renovation of existing buildings for public use.
The project seeks to enhance A Estrada's tourism services and restore a unique space linked to the river environment, located near the urban centre. Improvements will make the area more comfortable and accessible for both residents and visitors.
Key features of the project include:
- Renovation and modernisation of the recreational area, including new fencing and a footpath at the front of the site.
- Upgrades to existing pathways and accessibility improvements through the redesign of access points.
- Installation of new electrical, water supply, sewage, and lighting systems.
- Creation of new pedestrian paths and a raised wooden walkway along the river.
- Expansion and enhancement of the natural beach area and sunbathing zones, providing additional space for bathers.
- Environmental measures to preserve native vegetation and remove invasive species.
- Renewal of facilities for beach users, including accessible changing rooms, showers, and toilets.
- Establishment of an open space for social and cultural activities, featuring a versatile central element that can serve as a stage.
This comprehensive intervention aims to foster tourism and community engagement in A Estrada, contributing to the area's development and sustainability.
