Security measures in place for NFL game at Santiago Bernabéu

The Government Delegation in Madrid has organised a comprehensive security operation for the upcoming NFL regular season game featuring the Atlanta Falcons and Cincinnati Bengals, scheduled for 8 November at 15:30 in the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium.

This event will adhere to the same security protocols as any NFL game, despite being held outside the United States. This means there will be stricter controls and restrictions compared to a typical football match, necessitating a larger security presence of nearly 2,500 personnel.

Among the security measures, the NFL Bag Policy will be enforced, allowing only clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC bags, as well as small hand bags into the stadium. Any backpacks, waist bags, laptop bags, camera cases, or luggage exceeding the dimensions of 30 x 15 x 30 cm or not being transparent will be confiscated at the entrance.

Due to the security checks and inspections of clear bags, fans are advised to arrive early, as gates will open approximately two hours before the match starts.

The security operation will include personnel from the National Police, Civil Guard, Madrid Municipal Police, SAMUR-Civil Protection, the Fire Brigade, Red Cross, mobility agents, and security guards.
