The IV jornadas 'De la vida y de la muerte. Una visión diferente' will present a unique cultural offering this Friday, 6 November, with a dramatization of Edgar Allan Poe's renowned work, 'The tell-tale heart'. The performance will take place at 20:00 in the courtyard of the Tourist Office in Caudete.
Local actor José María Bañón Martínez will bring this unsettling tale of psychological horror to life, engaging the audience with a story that continues to evoke emotions, intrigue, and suspense. The courtyard will serve as an atmospheric setting for this theatrical experience, merging literature and the performing arts within the framework of the jornadas.
This initiative aims to expand the content of the jornadas, offering diverse perspectives on life and death. Poe's literature allows for an exploration of themes such as consciousness, fear, guilt, and the fragility of the human mind, making it a universal reference in the mystery genre.
According to Moisés López Martínez, the councillor for the cemetery, the inclusion of Bañón, a local talent, provides an excellent opportunity to showcase Caudete's artistic community and enrich the cultural landscape. He encourages residents to attend and enjoy this theatrical proposal, highlighting the value of integrating theatre into the jornadas, which aim to surprise audiences with varied activities.
“We want these jornadas to remain an open space for diverse proposals. History, cinema, literature, and theatre allow us to approach life and death from many different angles. Moreover, doing so alongside a local actor is an added satisfaction,” said the councillor.
