Exploring art: 20th edition of capbussa't dins l'art talks

Capbussa't dins l'art, a series of art talks, is set to celebrate its 20th edition, inviting participants to explore the world of art in a welcoming atmosphere. The upcoming edition will feature three discussions that encourage reflection on art through different lenses.

Event details

The talks will cover themes such as memory and the stories that connect us to the past, the artistic representation of identity and gender issues, and the value of art as a tool for expression and advocacy.

Matèria viva: 20 years weaving stories

On 4 November 2026, Aurora Baena Garros, an art historian, will lead a session celebrating two decades of Per amor a l’art, which aims to open windows and provide insights into the art world. This event will reaffirm the notion that art is a living matter, crafted with love and passion.

Set de mal

Scheduled for 24 February 2026, this talk will provide an artistic approach to Dracula, the 19th-century monster that has evolved from a literary character to a pop culture icon. Ruth Casabella Vehils, an art historian, will explore Dracula's image as a bloodthirsty, hedonistic, and cultured figure that has become part of our collective imagination.

Arte con orgullo

On 5 May 2026, Meritxell Blanco Lara, another art historian, will discuss what happens when art comes out of the closet. This conference will focus on LGBTQ+ artists who have transformed the representation of intimacy, desire, and bodies into a sanctuary of freedom and identity advocacy. The session will highlight intimate photographs by Nan Goldin and perspectives on queer communities by Sunil Gupta, alongside works by artists such as Andy Warhol, Pez Errázuriz, Claude Cahun, and Peter Hujar, showcasing stories that have long been excluded from the mainstream.

Venue and participation

The events will take place at Taller Tèxtil i de Vidre, located at Av. del Fener, 30, bajos, in Escaldes-Engordany. Attendance is free, and no prior reservation is required. All sessions will commence at 20:00. For more information, interested individuals can contact 890 853.
