Fuerteventura is advancing its institutional agenda at the World Travel Market (WTM) in London with a series of bilateral meetings. Marlene Figueroa, vice president of the Tourism Board and councillor for Tourism at the Cabildo, engaged in discussions with representatives from British Airways, Grupo Galaxi, Jet2 Holidays, Karpaten Romania, and Bravo Tours Denmark.
The Tourism Board is participating in the fair under the banner of Turismo Islas Canarias, at the institutional stand of Promotur Canarias, alongside the tourist municipalities of Antigua, La Oliva, and Pájara, as well as local business owners from the island's tourism sector.
This season, Fuerteventura is set to benefit from a new air connection: British Airways will launch a route between London Heathrow and the island, starting on 13 December with two weekly flights.
Marlene Figueroa emphasised, “The WTM allows us to maintain direct contact with the companies that promote Fuerteventura and the airlines that connect it. This is a continuous effort that helps prepare and guide the promotion for each season.”
The councillor also highlighted the importance of collaboration, stating, “We come to London alongside the tourist municipalities and local business owners because the promotion of the destination is built collectively.” The agenda for the Tourism Board at the WTM will continue with the final day of the fair tomorrow.
