The auditorium at the Casa de las Mujeres, located on Aoiz Street in Pamplona, will launch the II cycle of feminist monologues this month. The event will kick off on Friday, 20 November, with 'Mejor será reírnos', presented by Aroa Berrozpe. This performance promises a lively mix of humour and audience engagement.
The second cycle comprises four performances, all with free admission. The next event is scheduled for 18 December, featuring Maite Redín and her monologue 'Fotos, hormonas y Lexatín'. The remaining two monologues will take place in 2027: 'Txapeldun bihotzia' by Ainhoa Ruiz on 29 January, and 'Mi soledad, mi tesoro' by Virginia Senosiáin on 19 February. All performances are set to begin at 18:00 and are open to the general public.
This series of monologues is part of the autumn-winter programme at the Casa de las Mujeres, which will also present the play 'Mujeres que tejen luz' on Friday. This production, the latest work from the Auzotegi Antzarki theatre workshop, will be performed in Spanish at 18:30 and is also free to attend. 'Mujeres que tejen luz' is set in a sewing room near the cathedral of Pamplona, where a group of women gather in the months following the end of the war. In an atmosphere of oppression and fear, some risk their freedom by visiting prisoners held at the fort. The venue frequently receives visits from the parish priest of San Agustín and women of high social standing, some of whom harbour dark secrets.
The Casa de las Mujeres, a space for reflection, gathering, and empowerment for women, is set to celebrate its seventh anniversary on Friday, 11 December, having changed the original date from 13 November.
