The 2027 local short film competition, which celebrates its 18th edition, is set to open for entries on 29 October, with the deadline for submissions closing on 15 February. This competition is a key part of the Rivas Film Festival, which will take place from 10 to 20 March 2027.
During the festival, local films will be showcased and voted on by attendees. There are two categories for entries:
- Horizontal category: Shorts in horizontal format, up to 5 minutes long, including credits.
- Vertical category: Shorts in vertical format, up to 1 minute long, including credits.
To be eligible, the director of the film must be registered as a resident of Rivas-Vaciamadrid. If the director is not a resident, at least two of the technical and artistic roles in the short film must be filled by individuals who are registered in Rivas, and this must be clearly indicated in the registration form.
Participants are required to submit a signed and scanned registration form, parental authorisations if applicable, the requested photographs as per the competition rules, a Word file for subtitles if the short is not in Spanish, and the short film itself. The film can be submitted via a download link through services such as WeTransfer, Google Drive, or any file-sharing platform that allows the municipality to access and download the film.
