Real Betis will host Málaga CF this Saturday, 31 October, at 17:30 (Canary Islands time; 18:30 on the Spanish mainland) at the Estadio de La Cartuja in Seville. This match is part of the 11th round of LaLiga EA Sports, featuring two teams at opposite ends of the table.
The verdiblancos (green and white) are currently fourth in the standings, having accumulated 20 points from ten matches, with 6 wins, 2 draws, and 2 losses. They have scored 16 goals while conceding 14. Their last match ended in a 0-0 draw against Celta on Sunday, 25 October, at Balaídos.
In contrast, Málaga CF is languishing at the bottom of the table in 20th place, with just 5 points and still searching for their first victory of the season. Their record includes 5 draws and 5 losses, with 7 goals scored and 19 conceded. They drew 1-1 against Alavés on Friday, 23 October, with Adrián Niño scoring first in the 44th minute, only for Aitor Mañas to equalise in the 89th minute.
There is a significant 15-point gap between the two teams, and Málaga holds the record for the worst defence in the league. The last time Betis and Málaga met in LaLiga was on 30 April 2018, when Betis won 2-1 with goals from Durmisi and Fabián Ruiz, after an initial strike from En-Nesyri.
Prior to that, Betis had enjoyed a run of four consecutive league victories against Málaga, with results of 1-0 on 23 September 2016, 1-2 at La Rosaleda on 28 February 2017, 0-2 in Málaga on 18 December 2017, and the aforementioned 2-1 win in 2018. The most recent encounter, albeit a friendly, took place on 9 August 2025, when Málaga triumphed 3-1 in the Trofeo Costa del Sol at La Rosaleda, with goals from Larrubia and Chupete, and a solitary goal from Cucho Hernández for Betis.
