The Rockòdrom Music Festival will return to Arinsal on 11 and 12 September, further solidifying the town's reputation as a premier destination for live music, particularly for rock and metal fans. Alexia Verdaguer, the Minister of Culture, noted the significant interest in such events, stating, "Last year, we saw a large audience eager to enjoy the music, who were very satisfied with the mountain setting and respectful of the environment." She encouraged attendees to use public transport to reach Arinsal.
This second edition of the festival promises a stellar lineup, featuring nineteen bands from Andorra, Spain, France, and Denmark. Festival director Santi Casas remarked, "After last year's success, we have elevated the level of the lineup as we believe this is a viable project and are looking to expand towards Northern Europe." One of the headliners will be M Ø l, offering a rare chance to see one of Europe's leading bands, as they have no other scheduled performances in the region.
While the final schedule is still being arranged, Casas announced that the opening night will feature Reno Renardo, a beloved Spanish band known for their humorous and irreverent covers. The following day will showcase Klone, a prominent French progressive metal band; Toundra, a Spanish group renowned for their post-rock and instrumental metal; and Bala, a Galician duo that blends grunge, stoner, hardcore, and metal with infectious energy.
The collaboration with the French Embassy in Andorra has also enriched the lineup, adding Lifeboats, who merge alternative rock, melodic punk, and emo, as well as Sex Shop Mushrooms, a grunge band with extensive touring experience across Europe. In addition to Bala, Toundra, and Reno Renardo, several other Spanish acts will perform, including Fallen at Dawn, an emerging talent in modern Spanish metal; Prom Kinks, an alternative rock band with electronic influences; Gyoza, known for their intense fusion of punk, hardcore, and alternative rock; Afterlapse, recognised for their progressive and melodic metal compositions; and Metrakillator, a thrash metal band.
Also featured will be Madman, a tribute band celebrated for their renditions of Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath classics. As Casas explained, "Our policy for cover bands is that the songs must be fully personalised or tributes to musicians who are no longer active." Local band Andorraidura, a tribute to Extremoduro, will perform the iconic hits of the renowned Extremaduran band.
The festival will also include recent Andorran formations such as Frecuencia Cero, a hard rock group that combines melody with power, and In Eclipse, a modern metal band known for their intense stage presence. Ominira, with their alternative rock and post-rock textures, will also take the stage. One of the festival's highlights will be the performance by Punkers Love The 80’s, promising a fun show for audiences of all ages with festive punk renditions of 80s anthems. The lineup will be rounded off by Quim Salvat, who will present a unique take on author rock.
Casas hinted at plans for a closing party at a nightclub in Arinsal, although details are yet to be revealed. The Rockòdrom association will continue to update followers on the schedule via their Instagram channel.
