Seville city council launches heliópolis antique market in parque guadaíra

The mayor of Seville, José Luis Sanz, visited the first edition of the heliópolis antique market on Saturday, a national gathering of antique dealers taking place throughout the day in parque guadaíra until 19:30. This initiative, organised by the city council in collaboration with the Los Andes neighbourhood association, aims to integrate the green spaces in the south of the capital into the city’s cultural programming and offer a leisure alternative focused on historical heritage and collecting.

During his visit, Sanz highlighted the direct impact of the event on revitalising the area: “This first edition of the heliópolis antique market represents an excellent opportunity for Seville residents who are enthusiasts of antiques, but especially for families in heliópolis and los bermejales, who have the presence of prestigious national antique dealers practically at their doorstep.”

He emphasised the “success of this inaugural event, with a notable attendance of the public,” and noted that “due to the overwhelmingly positive response, this antiques market is set to become a permanent fixture, adding to the city’s autumn cultural offerings and providing activities for all audiences in the los bermejales and heliópolis neighbourhoods.”

Furthermore, the mayor pointed out that “parque guadaíra, thanks to its size and condition, is a perfect setting for hosting events of this magnitude. It is rare to find a combination of a prestigious exhibition offer with the privileged environment of a park like guadaíra. This has also contributed to the success of the first edition of the heliópolis antique market,” he concluded.
