José Luis Sanz, the mayor of Seville, has visited the 2026 Book Fair (FELISE), which is taking place in the Jardines de Murillo until 8 November. During his visit, he greeted booksellers, publishing professionals, and attendees, showing interest in their proposals and experiencing the vibrant atmosphere of this cultural event.
Accompanied by the fair's director, Antonio Agredano, and the delegate for Tourism and Culture, Angie Moreno, Sanz emphasised the importance of the fair, stating, "The Book Fair is one of those events that remind us of the significance of culture in the life of Seville. Books allow us to discover, learn, reflect, and travel without moving from our spot. It is a joy to see the Jardines de Murillo filled with booksellers, writers, and readers, sharing their passion for literature and making Seville a city that reads and enjoys culture."
This edition of FELISE features 55 exhibitors, including bookstores, publishers, and organisations related to the literary world, and includes participation from 130 authors alongside over a hundred activities. Presentations, literary meetings, discussions, and signings bring readers closer to writers from various genres and generations. Key highlights include Hispalit, meetings from the Andalusian Centre for Letters, and Reader Con Seville 2026.
"The City Council firmly supports initiatives that bring books to all audiences and showcase the work of our bookstores, publishers, and authors. FELISE is also an opportunity to enjoy public spaces, gather around culture, and reinforce Seville's role as a literary reference," Sanz added, encouraging both locals and visitors to head to the Jardines de Murillo and enjoy the programme until 8 November.
