Wines from Adega Pousadoiro and Casal do Canteiro launch CatArte in Ourense

The Ribeiro Designation of Origin (C.R.D.O. Ribeiro) has inaugurated the twelfth edition of the CatArte cycle with a joint presentation of two wineries from Castrelo de Miño: Adega Pousadoiro and Casal do Canteiro. The event took place on 6 November 2026 at the Centro Cultural Marcos Valcárcel in Ourense.

Alfredo Fernández and Jonatán Pousada led the tasting session, showcasing a total of six wine varieties, including both white and red options: Pousadoiro, Casal do Canteiro, Scalpellino Viticoltore, Dona Gotto, El tinto de Candela, and Valentina and Amphora. The wines were paired with gastronomic accompaniments and lively musical performances by Iago Vázquez, who entertained guests with songs from the 1980s, 1990s, and 2000s.

The event also featured an exhibition titled 'Ecosistema de un rodaje' by Esteban Delaiglesia, which highlights the dual role of the artist as both a professional cinematographer and a visual artist, paying tribute to the unsung heroes behind the camera in the film industry.

This edition of CatArte continues its tradition of solidarity, with all proceeds from ticket sales and donations going directly to the Fundación Diego González Rivas. This foundation aims to provide minimally invasive thoracic surgery to patients who face significant barriers to accessing such care.

Notable attendees at the inauguration included Concha Iglesias, president of C.R.D.O. Ribeiro; Marcos Vázquez, director of the Centro Cultural Marcos Valcárcel; Marisol Fernández, a volunteer from the Fundación Diego González Rivas; and Rosendo Fernández, provincial deputy of the Diputación de Ourense.

The CatArte cycle will run for four sessions at the Centro Cultural Marcos Valcárcel from 5 to 26 November, featuring wine presentations and tastings from various D.O. Ribeiro wineries along with musical performances. Each session is limited to 100 attendees, with tickets priced at €9 available through the online platform Entradium.

Upcoming events include a presentation of the institutional wines of C.R.D.O. Ribeiro on 12 November, accompanied by live music from Lois Alonso, a singer from the TVG programme Luar. On 19 November, Bodegas Casal de Armán will showcase their wines, supported by the duo Soul&Roll. The twelfth edition will conclude on 26 November with a tasting from Bodega Alanís, paired with music from DJ Álvaro Alonso.
