The cultural agenda of Manzanares is packed with activities from Friday to Sunday. Key events include the dance performance ‘Danzas solemnes’, a concert celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Mansil Nahar choir, the art exhibition ‘Mirai: horizontes inacabados’, the initiative ‘Legado Quijote’, and two book presentations at the BPM ‘Lope de Vega’.

The Gran Teatro de Manzanares will once again be the focal point of the weekend's cultural programming. On Friday at 8:00 PM, the Spanish dance show ‘Danzas solemnes’ will take place, showcasing landscapes inspired by the elegance of Aranjuez, the Jardines de Sabatini, and the Royal Palace of Madrid, combined with the temperament of southern Spain. Tickets are available for advance purchase until Thursday, 5 November, priced at €8, and €10 at the door.

On Sunday at 7:30 PM, the Mansil Nahar choir will commemorate its 25 years of musical dedication with a special concert at the Gran Teatro. The local choir will pay tribute to those who have supported them since their inception, featuring the Mansil Nahar orchestra, the group Electron, and various guest artists.

The BPM ‘Lope de Vega’ is also hosting a series of events. On Friday at 6:30 PM, María José Mira will inaugurate the exhibition ‘Mirai: horizontes inacabados’, which includes 21 works and 12 texts. This marks her return to exhibit in her hometown after eleven years, and the exhibition will be open until 8 December at both the library and Casa Malpica.

The library's offerings will also include two book presentations. On Friday at 8:00 PM, the book ‘Intrahistoria de Manzanares’, co-authored by Concepción Moya and Carlos Fernández-Pacheco, will be launched. This work compiles articles published over fifteen years in the magazine Siembra, and will be presented by Juan Ramón Romero, director of the National Historical Archive, along with contributions from the councillor for Culture, Jesús Romero, and the director of Siembra, Jerónimo Romero-Nieva. Additionally, on Saturday at 12:00 PM, Isabel Villalta will present her book ‘En Membrilla y Manzanares, la tierra dice su nombre’, which focuses on the study of local soil and the etymology of place names.

Legado Quijote initiative

Saturday will feature the ‘Legado Quijote’ initiative, promoted by the Ciudad Real Provincial Council to promote Cervantes' work. At 12:00 PM, a theatricalised cultural and tourist route will take place in the courtyard of the Manchego Cheese Museum, with prior registration required at the Tourist Office. At 12:30 PM, a talk on nutrition and sport will be held at the Casa de Cultura ‘Rafael Zárate Molero’, led by Raquel Méndez, concluding with live music from Cu4tro Cover Band. Finally, from 12:45 PM to 1:30 PM, La Bota de Oro will host a showcooking event with a tasting session, with places managed through the Tourist Office. To support family participation, the Casa de Cultura will also host the ‘Quijote Infantil’ activity from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, featuring a gymkhana and play area for school-aged children.
