Cultural autumn programme 2026 at Teatro Carolina Coronado features diverse performances

The spokesperson for the Almendralejo city council, Tamara Rodríguez, has unveiled the 2026 autumn cultural programme at Teatro Carolina Coronado, which aims to bring a variety of cultural offerings to the local community. Rodríguez emphasised the municipality's commitment to providing accessible, diverse, and high-quality cultural experiences that enhance the social and cultural life of Almendralejo.

The programme features a mix of free activities and ticketed events to encourage public participation. It commenced on 3 October with a performance by the Amadeus Chamber Choir and continued over the weekend with a sold-out comedy show by Guelmi.

Upcoming highlights include the performance of Hotel Macario on 16 October, presented by the Diputación de Badajoz, and a concert titled Una rosa entre los dientes by the Orquesta de Músicos de Almendralejo (OMA) on 17 October. This concert is part of the commemorative events for the 150th anniversary of Spanish composer Manuel de Falla and will feature a suite honouring him, including movements from notable ballets such as El sombrero de tres picos and El amor brujo.

The concert will also include an intermission performance of La boda de Luis Alonso by Gerónimo Giménez, and the Concertino for guitar and orchestra by Salvador Bacarisse, performed by young guitarist Lorena Benítez, under the direction of Álvaro Caballero, the principal conductor of the OMA.

Teatro Carolina Coronado will also host the presentation of the television series El fogón de los castúos next week. This 13-episode fiction series features local actors from Almendralejo, including José María Galavís, Amparo Morquecho, and Jesús Lozano, and is supported by the Almendralejo city council, the Diputación de Badajoz, and Cáceres.

The theatrical offerings will continue on 30 October with Rey Lear from the Theatre Network, followed by Jason y la furia on 13 November, and Largo viaje hacia la noche by D'Rule on 4 December. Cinema will feature on 10 November with Fest Cine Queer, an initiative aimed at expanding the cultural diversity of the city.

Music will also play a significant role, with a concert by the Civil Guard Band on 20 November in celebration of the anniversary of the Almendralejo Barracks, and the traditional Santa Cecilia Concert by the Municipal Music Band on 27 November. Children can enjoy the show Doña Bruja quiere amigos on 10 December, while the programme will conclude with the Dance Fest on 12 December, dedicated to dance.

Rodríguez has encouraged citizens to check the programme, reserve dates, and engage with the various cultural offerings, while also inviting media outlets to assist in spreading the word to reach a wider audience.
