The official bulletin of the province has published the regulatory bases for the prize competition for the 2027 Three Kings Parade in Almendralejo. This initiative aims to encourage participation from individuals, businesses, and organisations in one of the most anticipated events of the Christmas season.
The competition will award a total of €13,000 to recognise the creativity and artistic quality of the floats participating in the parade, scheduled for 5 January 2027, starting at 17:30. The main prizes include €1,200 for the winner, €1,100 for the second place, and €1,000 for the third. Additionally, six special theme prizes of €900 each will be awarded for floats dedicated to the Nativity, the Annunciation, and the Three Kings: Melchor, Gaspar, and Baltasar, as well as the Royal Postman. Smaller prizes of €700 per float will also be available until the budget is exhausted.
Applications can be submitted from today until 30 October. Individuals may apply at the Citizen Attention Office located at 11 Mérida Street in the Civic Centre, while legal entities must submit their applications through the electronic headquarters. Required documentation includes the application form from Annex I, a copy of the ID or tax identification number, a responsible declaration regarding vehicle permits and insurance, and other documents specified in the guidelines.
Float themes are free, except for specific conditions outlined for special categories. The maximum dimensions allowed are three metres wide and 4.30 metres high, measured from the ground. Participants must provide the necessary human and technical resources for the construction and parade, including the platform, towing vehicle, decorative elements, lighting, sound, and generators.
The Three Kings Parade will commence at 17:30 on 5 January 2027, with a new route starting from the fairgrounds and continuing along Avenida de A Rúa, Badajoz Road, Plaza de Extremadura, Avenida de la Paz, Avenida de América, Santa Marta Road, Ortega y Muñoz Street, and Juan Campomanes Street, concluding at the Palace of Wine and Olive Oil.
A jury composed of representatives from businesses, non-profit organisations, members of the Local Council for Children and Adolescents of Almendralejo, and professionals from the artistic and cultural sectors will evaluate the floats. Five criteria will be considered, each with a maximum score of 20 points: theme, design, costumes, space distribution and safety elements, as well as sound and lighting coordination.
With the publication of these guidelines, the Almendralejo City Council begins preparations for the 2027 Three Kings Parade and invites individuals, businesses, and associations to participate in creating the floats that will bring joy to the city's streets.
