Olèrdola monument complex to host family-friendly event with games, stories and music

The Olèrdola monument complex will host a new Matinal de Viu el parc on Sunday, 8 November, showcasing a family-friendly event that combines recreational, cultural, and heritage discovery activities. The day will kick off at 10:30 AM with a large play area featuring traditional games organised by El Burro dels Jocs. Attendees will find 32 play spaces offering various activities, along with contemporary toys adapted to traditional formats and craft workshops.

At 11:30 AM, storyteller Susagna Navó will present a storytelling session aimed at young children. The Matinal will conclude at 12:30 PM with a musical animation show suitable for all audiences, performed by the Bufanúvols company.

In addition to the scheduled activities, the event will also serve as an opportunity to participate in the 32nd Viu el parc Photography Competition, which focuses on the parks of Garraf, Olèrdola, and Foix. This year, there is a specific category dedicated to the Matinal, aimed at capturing the most memorable moments of the gathering. The competition is open to amateur photographers aged 18 and over, allowing submissions of up to three photographs per category, in both black and white and colour.

Entries can be submitted until 20 November, with the results announced on 3 December at the Ramon Fernández Jurado Library in Castelldefels, coinciding with the opening of an exhibition featuring the selected photographs.

This initiative aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) number 11, “Sustainable Cities and Communities,” and number 15, “Life on Land.” The 17 SDGs were proclaimed by the United Nations General Assembly on 25 September 2015 and are part of the global agenda for 2030. The Diputació de Barcelona is committed to supporting local governments in the province in accordance with these SDGs.
