Chiclana's brotherhoods are set to release their own trading cards showcasing the images associated with the local Holy Week celebrations. This announcement was made by the city's mayor, José María Román, alongside Antonio González, president of the Local Council of Brotherhoods and Cofradías, and Rafael Ruiz, the project's initiator.
The event also featured Fede Díaz, the municipal delegate for festivities, and other members of the Council of Brotherhoods and Cofradías. This initiative, already underway in other Spanish cities, aims to promote the significance of Holy Week.
In addition to the trading cards, a mobile application will be available to facilitate meet-ups for exchanging these cards. Mayor Román emphasised that this project aims to enhance the promotion of Chiclana's Holy Week, describing it as a novel idea that has received a warm reception in other parts of the country. He noted that the initiative has a national sales scope and will organise gatherings for card exchanges.
Rafael Ruiz explained that this project arrives in Chiclana through the Council of Brotherhoods, positioning the municipality alongside Cádiz and San Fernando, thereby completing the 'cofrade' axis of the Bay of Cádiz. “Anyone can collect these cards, which will help strengthen the image of the local Holy Week and increase its recognition in more places,” he stated.
Antonio González highlighted that the project has received unanimous support from the Council of Brotherhoods and the assembly of senior brothers. He also expressed gratitude for the collaboration and backing from the mayor and the City Council in promoting the city's Holy Week.
