The exhibition titled ‘Resonances and dissonances’ by La Línea artist Yeyo Argüez is now open to the public at the Galería Manolo Alés within the Casa de la Cultura, running until 27 November.

During her visit to the exhibition, Culture Councillor Raquel Ñeco was accompanied by Argüez and the gallery manager, Macarena Alés. The official inauguration, initially scheduled for Friday, was postponed due to three days of mourning declared following a train accident in Toledo. As a result, Ñeco's visit served as the official presentation of the exhibition.

Ñeco highlighted the artistic quality of Argüez's work, encouraging the public to visit the exhibition and noting that the theme was particularly innovative: “It is something completely new; at least it's the first time I have seen this type of work.”

Yeyo Argüez explained that he often changes themes in his exhibitions, detailing the focus of this particular display: “This time I am very interested in nocturnes and how the light of the city functions, both in people and animals.” He clarified, “Those who see the exhibition will sense a dual theme, but that is not the case. I believe visually it appears so, with animals on one side and people on the other, but internally, conceptually, it is not.”

Macarena Alés described Argüez as “a beloved and well-known artist in La Línea, both for his painting career and for the drawing and painting classes taught at the Casa de la Cultura.” She recalled their professional relationship, stating, “In the early days, it was one of the first exhibitions held here in the gallery; we have always progressed together in our professional journeys.”

According to the exhibition's description, “Resonance and dissonance are not opposing concepts but rather forces that coexist and complement each other. Both participate in the dialogue between light and darkness, between the recognisable and the enigmatic, between harmony and contrast.”
